The root D sits at fret 10 on the low E string and at fret 5 on the A string. Slide the same shape there for any other root.

D minor, the saddest key

D minor has one flat, B♭. On guitar it sits at the 10th fret on the low E or the 5th fret on the A string; with the open D string ringing below, it is a favourite for fingerstyle and folk.
