How to tune
A square-neck resonator guitar in bluegrass is tuned to high-bass G: G B D G B D from the sixth string to the first, every string part of a G chord. Open D, D A D F♯ A D, is the other common one, on the switch.
There are two open G tunings, and they don't agree at the bottom: a round-neck slide guitar's open G is D G D G B D, while the dobro's high-bass G raises the two lowest strings to G and B. Tune a dobro from a generic open G chart and the sixth and fifth strings end up a fourth and a third too low.
Then play something
The notes you tuned can go into Brumm as a short melody over a beat. Hum a line on top and it becomes an instrument.
