The G major scale on the piano

White keys: G A B C D E; black keys: F♯.

Fingering for one octave up: right hand 1 2 3 1 2 3 4 5, left hand 5 4 3 2 1 3 2 1 (1 = thumb). The same fingers come back down.

The second scale

After C major comes G major, one sharp, F♯, played with the 4th finger in the right hand on the way up. The fingering is the same as C major, so the only new thing is reaching the black key. Minuets and early pieces for beginners are often in G.
