Bagpipe chanter tuner
A free bagpipe tuner in your phone's browser for the Highland chanter: Low A at 466 to 486 Hz, then the scale up to High A, each note in cents. Nothing uploaded.

Low A first, drones to it. Mika knows C and F sit a little low here on purpose. The microphone closes when you stop, when all is in tune, or after half a minute of quiet. Nothing is recorded.

How to tune
A Highland chanter's Low A sounds far above concert A: about 470 to 480 Hz, and pipe bands today often 476 to 486. Pick the A your chanter plays with the switch, blow Low A steady, and tune the drones to it; then go up the scale note by note.
The chanter isn't tuned like a piano: its scale sits close to just intonation against Low A, so C and F read about 15 cents flat of the needle's middle, and High G can sit well flat, by design. Judge each note against what it should be, not only the tick. A single note too sharp gets a sliver of tape over its hole; sinking the reed raises the top hand against the bottom.
Then play something
The notes you tuned can go into Brumm as a short melody over a beat. Hum a line on top and it becomes an instrument.
