Harmonica tuner
A free harmonica tuner in your phone's browser: blow holes 1 to 4 of a diatonic in C, G, A or D and see each reed in cents, at A = 442 Hz as most harps are made. Nothing uploaded.

A harmonica starts at 442 here. Mika knows a new one reads sharp at 440 and doesn't panic. The microphone closes when you stop, when all is in tune, or after half a minute of quiet. Nothing is recorded.

How to tune
A diatonic harmonica is named for its 1-blow note: on a C harp, blow holes 1 to 4 give C E G C. Pick the key stamped on the cover plate and blow each hole long and soft; a hard breath bends a reed flat and the needle follows it.
Most harmonicas leave the factory a little sharp of 440, around 442 Hz, so the page starts there; at 440 a new harp reads a few cents high and nothing is wrong. Players don't retune by turning anything: a reed is filed at its tip to go up or scraped near the rivet to go down, a job for a steady hand or a repairer.
Then play something
The notes you tuned can go into Brumm as a short melody over a beat. Hum a line on top and it becomes an instrument.
