Voice Rocket

Sing like a siren: slowly up and back down again. The rocket flies with your voice through the stars, and your flight turns into three notes.

Mika, the resident

When the ambulance goes by, I howl along, up and down. Here a rocket flies along with you.Sing an Oooh, up and down!

The microphone turns on when you tap, listens for a few seconds and turns off again. Nothing is recorded or sent.

How the rocket flies

Sing a long Oooh or Wheee and let your voice slide, like a siren or a rollercoaster. When your note goes higher, the rocket climbs. When it goes lower, the rocket sinks. A flight lasts a few seconds.

There is nothing to hit and nothing to win. The rocket flies wherever your voice is right now, and every flight is right. Nobody has to go really high: a comfortable slide is enough, and the rocket still flies across the whole sky.

Mika turns the flight into three notes: the lowest, one in the middle and the highest, and plays them to you on the glockenspiel. In Brumm Kids a beat joins in, and you can sing a whole tune along.

Games for two

Rollercoaster: One of you draws a rollercoaster in the air with a finger, the other sings it, and the rocket flies it.

Landing: Start high and let the rocket glide down ever so gently.

Waves: Up, down, up, down: how many waves can the rocket make in one flight?

For parents and teachers

Gliding, letting the voice slide slowly up and down, is a gentle voice exercise that choir leaders use for warming up too. It is easy on the voice as long as nobody pushes or shouts, and a round lasts only a few seconds. The page never asks for the highest note, there are no points and no comparing with other children.

The microphone only listens when your child taps and turns off again after the flight. The voice is read in the browser and forgotten right away: no recording, no account, nothing is sent. Good from about four, a few minutes is plenty. More about Brumm Kids.
