Sing the note
Mika plays you a note. Sing it back, or play it on your recorder. Four notes, and you have a melody.

I play you the note. Sing it back to me, low or high, I hear both.Listen closely, then it's your turn!
First Mika plays the note, then the microphone listens for three seconds. Sing, hum or play, anything goes. Nothing is recorded or sent.
Hitting the note
Mika plays a note, and the card shows its name and its colour, just like the bright Boomwhacker tubes: C red, D orange, E yellow, F light green, G green, A purple, B pink. The child sings the note back, or plays it on a recorder, a glockenspiel, a piano. Mika listens whether it fits and, if not yet, kindly says “a little higher” or “a little lower”. Sung high or low, it doesn't matter: a child's voice, a dad's voice and a recorder all hit the same note.
Every note that fits goes into a row. Once there are four, the glockenspiel plays them as a melody, and in Brumm Kids it becomes a whole song with a beat.
For the classroom
Class mode: Switch to “Class” at the top. Each child sings one note, one tap on “Next child”, and the next one is up. After four children the glockenspiel plays the group's melody. There are no names, no points and no list.
With Boomwhackers: Hand out the tubes. Whoever holds the colour on the card plays the note; the others sing it back.
With a recorder: The child plays the note Mika shows. A recorder sounds an octave higher than a voice, and that's fine.
For parents and teachers
The page only listens when your child taps “Go”, and only for three seconds after Mika has played. The note is read in the browser and forgotten right away: no recording, no account, nothing is sent. There is no “wrong”, no points and no comparing with other children; after three tries the note goes into the melody anyway. The notes sit in a comfortable range for children's voices. Good from about four. More about Brumm Kids.
