Echo singing
Mika sings you a few notes, you sing them back. Then you hear your echo on a glockenspiel.

I sing first, you sing it back. Then I play your echo to you on the glockenspiel.I sing first, then you sing it back!
Mika sings first, then the microphone switches on and listens to you for a few seconds. Nothing is recorded or sent.
Echo singing: I sing, you sing
One sings, the other sings it back: that's how children have always learned songs. Mika starts with two notes, like a cuckoo call. When the echo works, another note joins, up to five. When it doesn't yet, Mika simply sings the same tune again.
Your echo gets smoothed a tiny bit so every note lands on a key, and then the glockenspiel plays it to you. It stays your tune, with your rhythm. And if it sounds nothing like Mika's? Then you've just made up one of your own.
For nursery and primary school
Sing it to the children: you don't need to know the tune. Tap “Hear the tune again” as often as you like, then sing it to the children yourself.
Echo in a circle: one child echoes Mika, the others listen and then echo that child's echo. One child at a time, no points.
Quiet and loud: sing Mika's tune once as quietly as a mouse and once like a bear.
In Brumm Kids the echo turns into music: a beat, a glockenspiel, and the child can sing a whole tune along.
For parents and teachers
The page only listens when the child taps “Go”, and only for a few seconds after Mika has sung. The voice is read in the browser and forgotten right away: no recording, no account, nothing is sent. There are no points, no “wrong” and no comparing with other children; the tunes stay in a comfortable range for children's voices. Good from about three, a few minutes is plenty.
